The following checklist contains all accepted taxa treated in the 2nd Edition of Flora of the Pacific Northwest. Taxa are included at the ranks of family, genus, species, and infraspecies; named and unnamed hybrids are also included. A list of all taxa treated in the 1st Edition of the Flora is also provided, which each name treated therein matched to the corresponding name in the 2nd Edition where relevant.
The checklist is available in two formats, an Excel (.xlsx) file with two tabs and a zip file containing two tab-delimited text files. A description of the checklist structure is provided below.

FloraPNW_Checklist.xlsx (2.1 MB Excel file; last updated June 30, 2018)
The checklist contains 2 tables (each represented as a tab in the Excel file, or a text file in the zip archive) corresponding to the 1st and 2nd editions of the Flora. The contents of each table, and an explanation of the columns in each, is provided here.
The Flora PNW 2nd Edition table represents all accepted scientific names treated in the 2nd Edition of the Flora published in 2018. The checklist also includes a few taxa that are considered present within the Flora region but were not included in the book, generally because they are insufficiently established or were discovered too late for inclusion.
Full synonymy is not included in the 2nd Edition checklist but can be otained from the PNW Herbaria synonymized checklist. Names in the 2nd Edition checklist can be linked to names in the PNW Herbaria checklist using the NameID and TaxonID fields.
For each taxon in the 2nd Edition checklist the corresponding name(s) of the taxon (or taxa) used in the 1st Edition is provided, allowing unambigous cross-walking between the two editions. This crosswalking reflects occasional misapplications of names and changes in taxon circumscriptions that would not otherwise be accommodated if the names were associated based only on synonymy.
The sources of all illustrations used in the 2nd Edition of the Flora are indicated. These include illustrations re-used from the 5-volume Vascular Plants of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a few illustrations from other sources. Also indicated are the new illustrations commissioned specifically for the 2nd Edition.

The Flora PNW 1st Edition table represents all accepted scientific names treated in the 1st Edition of the Flora first published in 1973. Scientific names, authors, and family names are given exactly as they appear in the 1st Edition. In particular, author names may differ from those used for the equivalent scientific names in the 2nd Edition or in the PNW Herbaria synonymized checklist.
The NameID column serves as the unique identifier of each name within the 1st Edition checklist and corresponds to the NameID values used in the PNW Herbaria synonymized checklist. The current accepted name for each taxon in the 1st Edition is indicated by the TaxonName and TaxonID fields. Full synonymy is not included in the 1st Edition checklist but can be otained from the PNW Herbaria synonymized checklist.
Each taxon name in the 1st Edition checklist is linked to the corresponding accepted name(s) of the taxon (or taxa) used in the 2nd Edition, allowing unambigous cross-walking between the two editions. This crosswalking reflects occasional misapplications of names and changes in taxon circumscriptions that would not otherwise be accommodated if the names were linked only based on synonymy. The SeeAlso field accommodates cases where a name in the 1st Edition corresponds to more than one accepted taxa.
The sources of all illustrations used in the 1st Edition of the Flora are indicated. Most illustrations were re-used from 5 Volume Vascular Plants of the Pacific Northwest; a few were drawn later specifically for the 1st Edition.
