island arc composed of metavolcanics and metasediments of quartzite, phyllite, limestone and chert plus soapstone, and other ultramafics amalgamated in almost vertical layers punctuated by intrusives of milky quartz and mini-plutonic domes. with Draperia systyla, Aesculus californica, Marah fabacea, M. watsonii, Datisca glomerata, Hoita macrostachya, Baccharis salicifolia, Stachys pycnantha, Rhamnus californica ssp. tomentella, Amorpha californica, Nassella pulchra, Calycanthus occidentalis, Chlorogalum angustifolium, C. grandiflorum, all at their northernmost range. not a specimen, enlarged photo of flowers.Northernmost locality in Jackson county.
