Grassy hillside along the saddle ridge, shortly east of western summit. Abundant. Usually in mossy sod, not deep grass. Varies greatly in looseness of inflorescence, the smaller plant being an extreme type. Phenology: Flowers.

Rocky slopes and pinnacles form the summit, where a small remnant stand of Abies amabilis and Tsuga heterophylla occurs (all the surrounding forests are logged-off). Steep open slopes at the summit have an herbaceous flora with relic xeric elements. In gravelly soil on steep Southeast-facing slope at the summit. Phenology: Flowers & Fruits.
