Saturated peaty small island, full sun, with Drosera rotundifolia, Juncus effusus subsp. effusus, Carex cusickii, C. aquatilis var. dives, Sphagnum. Yellow-green leaves with dark purple lines; occasional, introduced and apparently naturalized. Phenology: Vegetative.

Floating Sphagnum bog mats rimming lake, with Pinus contorta, Ledum groenlandicum, Carex, Juncus, Vaccinium oxycoccus. Some leaves modified into tall hollow tubes with flat hood at top, these yellow with red mottling; flowers lemon yellow; stems in clumps in bog mat; about 1 dozen clumps scattered around lake shore; well established.
