Flowing ditch, at water's edge, outside of vineyard, with Typha latifolia, Solidago lepida, Salix bebbiana, Carex pellita. Erect small trees 4-5 m tall, chopped at base by roadside clearing; similar to Lomer 8775, but more robust, larger leaves, less cottony leaves and shoots in new growth; appears to be a hybrid involving Populus alba and Populus tremuloides; Populus tremuloides also present in the ditch; rhizomatous patch covering 20 paces along ditch on both sides of the water.
