North-facing rocky slope with large volcanic rocks. Slope sunny and open, predominantly covered in grasses with scattered junipers, dry soil. Associated with Achillea millefolium, Amelanchier, Antennaria microphylla, Artemisia tridentata, Balsamhoriza sagittata, Bromus cf. trinii, B. sp., Chrysothamnus parryi, C. viscidiflorus, Festuca, Juniperus, Leymus, Potentilla, Ribes, Stephanomeria, and Tetradymia canescens. Scattered perennial, up to 2-4 in. tall, woody at base. Plant minutely puberulent. Leaves lanceolate to narrowly elliptic with tips reflexed. Fruits straight-hairy. Most plants vegetative; males observed past flower. This plant female. Phenology: Flowers and Fruits.
