Small creek; in stabilized sandy gravel bar with rounded boulders. Growing with Aruncus dioicus, Thuja plicata saplings, Populus trichocarpa saplings, Physocarpus capitatus, Tanacetum vulgare, Anthoxanthum odoratum. Ca. [about] 50 plants counted on the sandbar; shoots with reddish growth tips, old fruiting corymbs persisting from previous season. Phenology: Fruits.

Shrub 2 m tall with spreading flat-topped masses of pink flowers; garden escape, established on lower Capilano rivershores for at least 10 years; a few noted in brief search this year.
