British Columbia: Fraser Valley, island in Fraser 2 km east of Agassiz, 1.1 km northeast of McDonald Road & Dyke Road. Elev. 22 m

Mossy opening in mixed alluvial woods, with Rubus armeniacus, Lonicera involucrata, Prunus avium, Pyrola asarifolia, Equisetum hyemale. Small patch of about 10 clumps/stems; stems bristly red; just the second site known in the Fraser Valley.

Border of hybrid poplar plantation, on silty bank and on river channel ridge top; under Juglans ailantifolia grove along bank with Rubus spectabilis, R. leucodermis, Symphoricarpos albus, Torilis japonica, Matteuccia struthiopteris. 50 x 10 m patch; well established in at least two sites on the island; lax arching shrub to 4 m, rooting at the tips. Leaves trifoliate (5); probably spread by birds.
