In boulder field of volcanic rock; grows in shallow soil amongst boulders often with lichens and moss; surrounding vegetation dominated by Dryas octopetala/ Salix arctica and Carex bigelowii tundra. Common; leaflet teeth narrowly triangular, epicalyx bractlets narrow, <2.0 mm.
