Brushy, shaded understory of mature Pseudotsuga menziesii forest, with some Arbutus menziesii; understory of Gaultheria shallon, Vaccinium parviflorum, Berberis nervosa, Ilex aquifolium, Hedera helix, and other native and introduced shrubs. Large shrubs and saplings 1-4 meters tall, spread throughout park and clearly naturalized and reproducing; berries bright red, in drooping clusters; leaves bicolored, lighter beneath. Phenology: Fruits.
