4 m tree, (October fruit orange-red, red-streaked; mostly ovatel some elliptic-globose or ovate-globose; fruit L>W, 13-18 x 12-17 mm wide, showy with blooml calyx mostly deciduous, some persisting with slightly lumpy base; strongly lobed leaves on vigorous shoots in autumn); buds pink, petals white, 19-21 x 11-12 mm widel claw 2 mm, flowers 31-40 mm diameter; anthers bright yellow, filaments white; sepals red-tipped and spreading; 3-4 styles; pedicels 22-28 mm long; rare wild plant in brushy fields, with Crataegus monogyna, Populus balsamifera, Rubus armeniacus. Phenology: Flowers.

Brushy fields, with Crataegus monogyna, Populus balsamifera, Rubus armeniacus. 3 meter tree, fruit green, dull red on sunny side; ovate, fruit W > L, or a few L > W, 16-23 x 17-25 mm wide, with basal cavity and scabby; 5 carpels; seeds brown; lobed leaves on vigorous shoots; calyx strongly persists and base more or less swollen (rarely shed); rare wild plant in brushy fields. Phenology: Fruits.

Four meter tree, fruit orange-red, red-streaked; mostly ovate, some elliptic-globose or ovate-globose; fruit length greater than width, 13-18 x 12-17 millimeters wide, showy, with bloom, 5 carpels; seeds brown; strongly lobed leaves on vigorous shoots, turning yellow; pedicels 15-24 millimeters long; calyx mostly deciduous some persisting with slightly lumpy base; rare wild plant. Phenology: Fruits.
