Oregon: Lane County: Eugene. Near East Fork Willow Creek, The Nature Conservency Willow Creek Preserve, south side of West 18th Avenue. Elev. 400 ft.

Shrub and tree invaded wet prairie remnant, with Fraxinus latifolia, Crataegus suksdorfii, C. monogyna, Rosa multiflora, Pyrus communis, Amelanchier alnifolia. Flesh crisp, tart & tasty; fruit brilliant red-orange with red streaks, pretty, 19-22 x 22-28 millimeters wide; calyx persists; pedicels 20-30 millimeters; 5 carpels and no lining on inner carpel walls; rare tree in damp thickets, both putative parents present. Phenology: Flowers & Fruits.
