In trickle stream drainage on rocky mountainside above highway, south-facing, with Arbutus menziesii, Pseudotsuga douglasii, Holodiscus discolor, Lonicera hispidula. Sturdy, erect, compact evergreen shrub; with some clusters of persistent red berries; ca. 20 cm circumference at base; two plants and another sapling seen in woods in vicinity.
