Adventive at edge of hay meadow with prairie remnants, full sun. Associated taxa: Cytisus scoparius, Pseudotsuga menziesii, Oemleria. White flowers 26 mm diameter, petals 11-12 mm long, blunt, obovate; pedicels 15-30 mm long; pits smooth, 9-10 x 8-9 mm wide; ca. 20 thicket-forming suckering shrubs 3-4 m tall.
