British Columbia: Yoho National Park, ca. 1.1 km east of Highway 1 bridge over Kicking Horse River. Elev. 1365 m

Switchback track down to rr tracks from Walk-in-the-Past Trail to old locomotive. Growing with Anaphalis margaritacea. Large patch of 100's of plants; some to 2+ m tall; flower spikes purplish-blue; stem base sparsely hairy; leaf blades hairy on margins; petal hairs yellow; also observed in wet lush area around the old locomotive and in the town of Field; seems the true species from Europe and not a cultivar; well established and not planted.
