Cultivated in landscaped strip between road to mall and fence, with Rosa rugosa(?), Epilobium angustifolium, Rubus parviflorus. Forming a dense shrubby thicket 1.5 m tall, having the appearance of Gaultheria shallon; leaves small, rounded, 6 x 5 cm; flowers pink-reddish to pinkish white; planted at site; variety is an ornamental plant, occasionally cultivated.
