Gap between cement sidewalk and paved road. Tough rhizomatous bamboo forming low leafy shoots in three places down a 20 m strip of road, with Agrostis sp. and Phalaris arundinacea; spreading from a dense mass by the cemented rock wall and wood fence of the adjacent building; leaves soft hairy on abaxial surface, less hairy adaxially, margins scabrous, mostly 16 cm long and 25 mm wide on larger shoots, becoming rolled inward on drying.

Grassy ditch dyke between track and blueberry field, with Rubus armeniacus, Alnus rubra saplings. 10 small clumps scattered over 50 m strip; persisting from fill material used for the old dyke border; inconspicuous except for the evergreen leaves in late winter.
