Note: A valid name has yet to be published for the cultivar Secar long considered a variant of Blue Wheatgrass. However, this entity is actually a hybrid between Bluebunch Wheatgrass (Elymus spicatus) and Thickspike Wheatgrass (Elymus lanceolatus). Thus, in a broad sense, the existing name Elymus × albicans could apply, but the plants differ in morphology and habit. Gusick 158.
