Associated taxa: Pinus ponderosa, Larix occidentalis, and Pseudotsuga menziesii. Mass collection including long needled trees with white bands of stomata on both surfaces, the needles somewhat erect on the upper surface of the branches, and bluish-green (A. concolor) to yellow-green needled trees, the needles spreading in flat sprays and with no stomata (except the tip) on the upper surface (A. grandis) and with about every degree of intergradation.
