Thousands of plants growing on cinders along roadsides. All corollas magenta except two plants with white corollas; all with yellow markings in throat. Most plants in full bloom, some not yet beginning to flower. Corolla uniformly magenta except on the whitish tube and lower throat exterior; the throat with narrow dark magenta lines radiating to the midveins of the lower 3 lobe bases; the proximal portion of the throat interior and the 2 throat floor ridges yellow with scattered small reddish dots; the yellow throat floor ridges are usually bordered distally by dark reddish dots or by a continuous reddish border. A chromosome count was determined from one plant in this population: n=8. Phenology: Flowers.
