Shaded cedar, alder, Douglas-fir understory with Rubus spectabilis, Polystichum munitum, Hedera helix, Claytonia sibirica. 50 x 50 m patch at site and co-dominant on mossy forest floor and into stabilized round mossy boulders on the riverbed in the vicinity; past flowering; fruit a rounded lumpy membranous capsule 6 mm.
