Large open meadow dominated by Carex aquatilis in very wet areas (w/ water table above substrate surface), and other Carex spp. elsewhere. Scattered pools on the west side of the wetland (to 1.5 m deep) surrounded by well-developed Sphagnum-covered hummocks dominated by Vaccinium occidentale, Kalmia microphylla, and Ledum glandulosum. Scattered islands of Abies lasiocarpa and Salix spp. occurring throughout the meadow. The meadow is surrounded on the N, W, and S sides by granitic boulder talus. With Carex spp. Few, scattered individuals on wet Sphagnum-covered hummocks surrounded by shallow water. Petals yellow. Phenology: Flowers.
