Moist to dryish stony alpine ridge with entirely limestone substrate, almost always in association with and probably parasitic on Dryas octopetala L. Mostly reddish, varying to pink, pale orange, magenta or crimson-magenta. Locally fairly common. Pop. 3. HOLOTYPE collection! Phenology: Flowers. Holotype: Castilleja kerryana J.M. Egger.
