Alaska: Tongas National Forest. Recently deglaciated valley near foot of Yakutat Glacier, at northeast end of Harlequin Lake, Russel Fiords Wilderness Area, northeast of Yakutat. Elev. 16-32 ft.

Flat glacial outwash plain, with shrubby Salix sp. & Epilobium latifolium. Locally abundant. Highly variable, every imaginable shade between deep crimson and yellow. Vigorous hybrid swarm showing complete introgression of most characters. Photographed: Yes. Phenology: Flowers.
