Shrub-steppe/sagebrush habitat, top of low south-facing ridgeline, soils trending toward lithosol, rocks at surface 50% bare ground. Other plants: Artemisia rigida, grasses (sparse), Lomatium quintuplex, Viola trinervata (spent), Penstemon gairdneri. Tiny annual about 3 centimeters tall, linear leaves slightly pubescent, flowers yellow, 4 petals; infrequent. Phenology: Flowers.
