Oregon: Malheur County: Locality: Both sides of road, summit of Jackson grade; collection made 2.5 miles north of summit on trail along top of ridge.¶Quad Name: Battle Mtn. Elev. 6420 ft.
Merid. WM T38 S R 43 E Sec. 15 Subdiv. SWSW.
Aspect: flat.¶Soil: talus rock and cobbles.¶Habitat Type: open talus.¶Associated Plants: ARAR, FIED, POSA, Lomatium cous, Mertensia - all sparse. Abundance & Distribution: many hundreds of plants in many, many of the talus runs; beautiful range of pinks from light, almost white, to deep, almost magenta. Phenology: Fertile.
