Shady mossy ground and north facing road cut under young second growth forest of Abies amabilis, Tsuga mertensiana and small Thuja plicata, with Tiarella unifoliata, Athyrium filix-femina, Vaccinium, Lycopodium annotinum, L. clavatum, L. sitchense, L. complanatum, L. alpinum, Huperzia haleakalae. Only a few small plants, forming tufts of stems, appearing in poor health; growing among both parents (Legler 2852 and 2853); leaf shape and arrangement intermediate. Phenology: Vegetative.
