Oregon: Jackson County: Harris Gulch, south of Blackwell Hill; Callahan's amd Hidden Valley Ranch.
Does not color pink- white fading to a dirty yellow; on private property; subspecies purpurascens can be found in the area, growing in a flat just east of the Eagle Mine, plants to 1 m. tall, rare blushed with pink and drying purple.

north slope, understory, with Pseudotsuga menziesii. Both subsp. grow in the area. Ssp. purpurascens grows in a flat just east of Eagle Mine. ssp. washingtonianum does not color pink - is white fading to dirty yellow. Ssp. purpurascens rare, to 1 m. tall, blushed with pink and drying purple. Phenology: flowering.
