Disturbed vacant lot of demolished home. Sprawling branched perennial with pleasant fragrance; corolla pink, hairy; anthers < corolla lobes; single plant among many regenerating garden species.

Sandy gravel shore. Rhizomatous perennial with lilac flowers, somewhat unpleasant minty smell; sterile; introduced from Europe.

Tall grassy area. Perennial with branching stems, mostly non-flowering, light pink flowers and anthers merely non-functional glandular balls. Sterile plant arising from hybridization between M. arvensis and M. aquatica. Neither sp. present in the area (M. aquatica not known from BC.). Introduced from Europe.
