British Columbia: Small sand and gravel point, southeast shore of Mara Lake, 0.5 kilometer north of park, North Okanagan Regional District. Elev. 335 m.

In 5-15 centimeters water, with Isoetes maritima, I. howellii (on shore), Equisetum fluviatile, Ranunculus flammula, Potamogeton richardsonii. Leaves straight, erect, much taller than parents at this site; uncommon submerged aquatic.

Sandy spit, on higher ridge with fine gravel; growing with Gratiola neglecta, Plagiobothrys cognatus, stranded Potamogeton sp., Ranunculus flammula var. reptans. Megaspores variable in size, surfaces variably smooth to bumpy to low crested; abundance not noted, being mixed with Isoetes maritima and Isoetes howellii at site.
