Large sloping wetland complex with scattered ponds surrounded by Sphagnum mats which are dominated by Carex prionophylla (immediately around ponds) and Eriophorum polystachion in low, wet areas. Surrounding forest patchy on raised areas and along streams dominated mostly by Abies lasiocarpa and Picea engelmannii w/ scattered Pinus albicaulis seedlings. Understory species in more mesic areas include Xerophyllum tenax and Vaccinium globulare. Wetter understories characterized by Rhododendron albiflorum, Vaccinium occidentale, Senecio triangularis and Menziesia ferruginea. Abundance: common, growing in ca. 1 acre pond in water at least 3 dm deep. Bottom soft, floculent, rooted submergent. Phenology: Uncertain.
