Burned sagebrush zone that is now dominated by grasses (Artemisia and shrub skeletons mark extent of fire). Shallow gulch that features a prominent and large basalt outcropping which faces south. Dry soil with very little exposed ground due to grasses, except the various basalt exposures. Terrain is flat within the base of the gulch as well as dry with no evidence of ephemeral streams. Female grouse witnessed greater than 200 m from site. Pale green flowers with speckles on interior surface.
