Low wet ground, some Alkali. Reported to be good pasture and hay crop, palatable to all kinds of stock. Stems up to 5 feet in length, abundant seed production, many vigorous modules on roots. Ist sample sent to MSC by Rupple, Twin Bridges in fall of 1933 for identification. TYPE, part of plant pictured- James Soe ayer. 27: 1935. Phenology: Flowers & Fruits. Type specimen (basionym and designation not recorded).
