South and west slope on rock outcrops surrounded by dry Dryas alaskensis heath tundra with Podistera yukonensis, Minuartia arctica, Saxifraga oppositifolia, S. bronchialis, Cassiope tetragona, Packera cymbalaria, Carex scirpoidea, Draba palanderiana, Douglasia gormanii, Woodsia ilvensis, Bupleurum americanum, Artemisia arctica, Micranthes rufopilosa, Selaginella sibirica, Potentilla arenosa, Silene acaulis, and Poa glauca. Flowers blue and purple. Common. Flowering and in fruit. BRY
