Newly 'landscaped' area along road; growing in topsoil loosely spread over a sand base with weeds and apparently no plantings; growing with Lepidium campestre, Lolium perenne, Vulpia myuros, Poa compressa. Ca. 100+ plants scattered over topsoiled area; annual with golden yellow flowers; mature plants branching with many (5-10+) flower spikes; hairy tough pods with usually 4-5 creamy beige seeds with dark brown mottling; native to south Europe; cultivated for fodder, probably intentionally seeded with topsoil.
