Steep rocky hillside with tumbleweed, Bromus tectorum, desert mint, low sagebrush, Indian Rice Grass, Stipa. Purple and pale yellow flowers; calyx lobes 2-4 mm and less than half the length of tube; racemes 4-8 flowered, subcapitate, caulescent; leaves hairy, leaflets 11-17. Leaf tissue collected for DNA extraction.
