In small muddy sunny ponds, with Juncus acuminatus, Eleocharis macrostachya, E. obtusa. Odd form with well-developed terminal sheath teeth, rhizomes like E. macrostachya, and well-developed perianth bristles and tubercles like E. obtusa; occasional to common. Phenology: Fruits.
