Remarks: Dupl. det. Gordon Tucker 8-2018 EIU; "I believe it is Cyperus diandrus Torrey (Zika #29078). The achenes and anthers are the right size and shape. The scales have the peculiar color pattern (dark red at the tips with a reddish band along the margins and the central part of the scale light brown. Also, the stigmas are long and exserted, and the styled only about 0.2 mm long. All this is spot on for C. diandrus. The nearest locations would be Minnesota and Nebraska.";
