Dominant forming nearly pure stands in moist meadows. Highly variable at times resembling C.ramenskii and grading into Carex aquatilis. Ranging from under 6" in height to over 14". See collection #06-309. Confirmed by A.A. Reznicek May 2007 - typical of specimens found in the low arctic (and Hudson Bay), with higher habit and narrower perigynia and typical achenes. 3 duplicates (MICH; DAO).
