at site in 2011: Picea sitchensis, Sequoia sempervirens, Thuja plicata, Pseudotsuga menziesii, a single 60' cypress upstream from the site on private property. Soild derived from uplifted sandstones. Bark specimens collected during logging operation [see sheet 13901]; bark specimens cut to fit herbarium sheet. See notes on sheets 13901, 13916. Note acc number changed fr 13912 to 13916. Phenology: vegetative.

Nearly pure grove with some coast redwood, a few shrubs and Clintonia andrewsiana in full bloom. Cathedral grove of very large "Dwarf Cypress" which these trees are certainly not as described in Sudworth 1908. Largest tree measured is 165' tall and 8.3'diameter at 5' above base. Grove has over 40 large trees and several dozen small. "I was told that these trees are to be harvested, a pity." Phenology: flowering.
