Dryas octopetala / Salix arctica tundra with Anthoxanthum monticola, Minuartia arctica, Chrysosplenium wrightii, and Carex microchaeta. Bedrock volcanic. Often growing in fine sands in exposed situations. Throughout mountainous areas. Fruits glabrous; stems pubescent with long-stalked stellate hairs; style 0.4 mm; petals white. Material removed for DNA extraction. Phylogenetic analysis of Draba sp. Ingrid Jordon-Thaden 2014 Accession No: BABY17.I. Al-Shehbaz adds the note Dec. 2014. The single plant I received was identified as D. porsildii (by B.A. Bennett, Dec. 2013), but it clearly belongs to a form of D. lactea with dendritic trichomes on the abaxial leaf surface. I do not know if the plants you have are the same as the gift you sent.". Uncommon. 1 duplicate (MO).
