Plants growing in beach sand in leeward dune pockets. Populations mid/south dune areas. Assoc.: Tanacetum camphoraturm, Calystegia (Convolvulus) soldanella, Camissoniopsis (Camissonia) cheiranthifolia. 25-40 plants each site. ** Northernmost known range of species. Phenology: flowering.
