N. aspect, slope ca 5-7%, thin rocky, well drained soil derived from quartizite. Exposed, windswept rocky subalpine ridge. Found with Poa bulbosa, Penstemon humilus, Balsamorhiza hookeri, Astragalus sp?, Castilleja sp?, Poa secunda, Arenaria sp?, Artemisia tridentata var. vaseyana. Common in area, light purple ray and yellow disc flowers with mat forming habit Phenology: Flowers.
