Sea level, edge of mangroves, on sand. With Conocarpus erectus, Genipa clusiifolia, Avicennia germinas, Laguncularia racemosa, Pithecellobium keyense, Suriana maritima. Rhizomatous shrub, to 75 cm tall, ray and disc florets yellow; locally common.
