Sloping sandy shore, well above high water mark, in Opuntia fragilis patch. Plants with smooth, brown-skinned, narrow bulbs in clusters; leaves hollow, inflated; bulbils formed in place of flower heads, some on extended shoots; a garden escape; hybrid between Allium cepa and A. fistulosum; ca. 10 clumps in back of residential homes, on two properties with several other species escaped from gardens.

Shrubby, weedy hillside below residences, dominated by Prunus virginiana. In silty organic soil with Galium aparine, Taraxacum officinale, Tragopogon dubius, Bromus tectorum. Several plants with flower head buds; continued growing after pressing into November; leaves and stem tubular; hollow; plants odorless when rubbed, but smells like an onion when bulb crushed; garden escape – shallot(?)
