Spreading from cultivation to steep sand bluffs eroded by the sea, with Equisetum telmateia, Fragaria chiloense. Succulent stems and leaves; fleshy fruits eaten by rodents; leaves sharply triangular on edges and serrate near tip. Phenology: Remnants.

Spread (from cultivation near homes) to sand deposits and becoming a pest of brushy dunes. Succulent, prostrate, leaves sharply 3-angled, sepal and leaf tips minutely serrate; fruit fleshy to juicy, sweet, including erect sepals 52-59 x 25-27 millimeters wide. Phenology: Remnants.
