Found in wet area, surrounded by ferns, salal, moss and under conifer canopy. Growing in soil with high organic matter, many decaying logs around. Solitary. The nearly conical cap of this specimen does not fit well with H. flavescens, but the lack of pointy umbo does not fit well with H. acutoconica either. This specimen could be close to H. chlorophana.
