A nearby (N)/ new plot was installed about 0.60 mi N of CVS 1044172. We headed N down ridge to TSME stand with reachable Alesar for elemental analysis, this was the first area where lichens were in reach. The plot had a moderate slope (about 30-40 %). The soil was fine and sandy. Trees were not dwarfed but tops and branches were leaning to the east (due to wind). LEPE covered forest floor. Snow line for lichen 8-20 ft. Trees with abundant cover of Brygla (non-sorediate) and Nodore. Also alot of Alesar. In good condition. Slope 30%. Aspect 280°. Abundance code: 3. Substrate: psme br.
