Plot in forest below talus slope. Most of the plot has mossy rocks as ground cover. Vegetation is a mosaic of Acer douglasii in open area and PSME forest with some TSHE and ABAM. Lots of Holodiscus discolor in Acer areas, and Mahonia nervosa and Polystichum munitum in forested areas. The rocky ground has outstanding cryptogam cover- mostly moss including Racomitrium spp., Clayopodium spp., Hylacomium splendens, Rhytidiadelphus robusta, Polytrichum piliferum, with a large diversity of lichens. Diversity of both shrubs and cryptogams is high. The rare moss tetraplodon was even found! One weird thing is that Trachybryum megaptilum is here, it is a dry site indicator but this is moist and has moist indicator mosses. Slope 55%. Aspect 226°. Veg. cover: Pinus monticola (?), Chrysolepis chrysophylla, Prunus emarginata, Rhododendron macrophyllum, Paxistima myrsinites, Rosa gymnocarpa, Cornus cornuta, Sorbus sitchensis, Xerophyllum tenax, Heuchera micrantha, Polystichum munitum.
