Idaho: Blaine County: Little Wood River, Snake River Watershed. ¶Carey Kipuka. Approximately 20 km E of Carey. Access though Carey Kimimah Desert Road. At (Piss) Ant Butte, turn north to Carey Kipuka Trail Access (appr. 7 km). Elev. 1582 m.

Fully exposed xeric lava ¶Collections from sagebrush steppe communities in kipuka, and from lava rock along access trail and kipuka perimeter. Lava fields with some Phlox but largely non vegetated. Kipuka dominated by Artemisia tridentatata and native grasses.
